Together in Faith

Together in Faith includes our first communion class... see bottom this of page

Together if Faith means children and their parent(s), guardian(s), or whomever is active in their faith life learning and growing together. It means planting seeds and growing families to be faithful together.

Together in Faith classes begin with preschoolers and continue through the 5th grade. Children and a parent/guardian spend 2-3 Sundays together during the education hour. This will be a time of activities, learning, and fun to experience together. The class ends with a worship celebration, usually the following week, at the 8:30 OR 11:00 service where the children lead part of the service. Children will also receive a special gift from congregation, their "faith family" after completing each milestone class.

3rd Graders - Opening the Bible

• September 30th, 2007,  9:45 & 1:30-3:30
• Worship Celebration -  October 1st - Bible buddy breakfast at 8:45
• Bibles presented in worship at 11:00.

4th Graders - The Apostle's Creed

• February 24th and March 2nd, 2008
• Worship Celebration March 9th, 11:00 worship

5th Graders - Real Life Faith

• April 6th and 13th, 2008
• Worship Celebration, April 13th,  2008, 11:00am

First Communion Class:

At SMLC parents decide when their children are ready to take their first communion. All ages are welcome and must attend with a parent or guardian. Class is traditionally offerend once in the fall and the Tuesday evening prior to Holy Week.  This year our scheduled dates are : 
     Class - Tuesday, November 27th, 2007  at 6:00 pm. 
     First Communion will be received on Sunday, December 2nd

     Class - Tuesday March 11th, 2008 at 6:00 pm.
     First Communion received, Maundy Thursday, March 20th, 7:00pm

We come together to learn what it means to take communion in a fun, active class. Registration forms will be available and children must register in order to attend the class. Click here for registration form.
